Stampede attendees were disheartened at the announcement that a beloved mini donut vendor would not be attending the event this year.

"Those Little Donuts," a mini donut vendor established in Okotoks in the 1940's, is missing from the Stampede grounds this year after submitting their application late.

Nathan Maier, co-owner of Those Little Donuts, says Stampede is always a major event for the company.

"Stampede has been one of our busiest event for years and years and years. It's always been a phenomenal event and they always do a great job of getting people down to the grounds, having entertainment, and having just a ton of stuff to do."

He says the financial dent left by missing out on Stampede will be hard to fill.

"Not having Calgary this year, it's been a huge financial impact on the business. Definitely will not be able to make up for the lack of that business. We're trying to pick up where we can and trying to substitute as much as we can as well."

Maier says he hopes to make appearances at future Stampedes, wishing them the best of luck with their final weekend.

For now, Those Little Donuts will be making numerous appearances at other events, including the Okotoks Fair from July 12th-14th.
