High River Business Operators will be allowed to return Monday July 1 at 8:00 AM:

This includes businesses in downtown High River as well as those lining the commercial district on 12 ave.

Prior to entering High River Business owners will have to report to the John Deere dealership at the Highway 23 overpass.

Business owners are reminded that Occupational Health and Safety regulations still apply and the provincial state of emergency remains in place.

Southwest re-entry for residents starting Monday July 1 at noon:

This includes these communities: Beachwood Estates, McLaughlin Meadows, Old Rodeo Grounds, Downtown and Golf course

Residents must check into the Welcome Center at the Ag grounds prior to entering town where they will receive an informational package, a resident pass and two visitor passes. They will also at this point receive the colour code of their home.Green: Habitable
Yellow: minor impact, requires clean-up, possible repairs, remains habitable
Orange: damages, requires extensive repairs or renovation, not immediately habitable, residents enter at own risk
Red: severely damaged, uninhabitable, dangerous, residents enter at own risk.

Residents are reminded that for insurance purposes their first step should be to photograph everything.
DO NOT open your fridge or deep freeze, CEO of Western Financial Group Jeff Burke suggests people duct-tape shut these appliances in case they forget.
Safeguard your skin from contact with any remaining water and be aware that the dust left behind is fine enough to cause breathing problems.

If residents have had fire-arms confiscated by RCMP or their home was damaged in the RCMP's initial search they may call 403-652-2356.

A process is in the works in order to reunite people with their displaced vehicles and is expected to be released on Monday.

East End update:

40,000 gallons of water per minute are being pumped from this area. The East end remains blocked off and in a mandatory state of evacuation, this area remains to be unsafe and is monitored by the RCMP.

Northwest re-entry:

1500 residences have been re-occupied so far.
A boil water advisory remains in effect but water used for bathing or laundering does not need to be boiled.
Reconnection of gas and electricity is underway and is continuing.

The welcome center will continue to serve reliable location for support, advice or information.

High River Hospital:

The hospital remains closed but AHS is working to recover the facility. The parking lot has been cleaning and contractors are beginning work inside.

In High River there are currently 3 EMS teams, 2 community paramedics and 8 mental health workers, staffing will increase as is needed.
