The 2022 Canada Summer Games came to a close Sunday with Team Alberta capturing the Centennial Cup for the most improved team from the last summer games.

We pocketed a total of 111 medals: 35 gold, 33 silver and 43 bronze.

Leading the team was swimming which collected 42 medals including a pair of golds from Okotoks' Wells Ginzer.

Parker Deshayes of Foothills County finished just out of the medals in fourth in swimming.

In baseball, the Alberta team, including four Okotoks Dawgs Academy players took one of the 33 silver medals won by our province.

The team included Eric Hartman, Léo Côtém Eric Machej and Rowan Robinson.

And among the 43 bronze medals, we won was the female box lacrosse team which included Okotoks' Jordyn Payne.
