The second local parade of the season is already here.

The 56th Diamond Valley Discovery Day and Family Festival is set for Saturday morning and runs all day.

The pancake breakfast gets the day started right at 8:30 a.m. in Black Diamond at Oilfields High School.

The parade then follows at 10 and there's a new route this year.

The route has always gone right down Highway 22 but not this year.

After the parade, all the festivities open up in Turner Valley at Millenium Park.

From a dunk tank fundraiser for Oilfields High School to bouncy houses, a petting zoo, and a local vendor market.

Live entertainment will be happening in the early afternoon featuring a drum circle.

Something new this year is if you've ever wanted to check out archery, there is a safe way to do it this year thanks to Foothills Archery.

They will be set up at the ball diamond.

And if you want food, there are lots of choices from the Foothills Lions Club and their scrumptious sausages to A&W offering up burgers and root beer.

And food trucks will also be lined up ready to feed the masses. The Lil Legendary Leos will also have a bake sale and the Sheep River Arts Council has their annual Bake Sale and Quilt Show lined up. Topping off the food choices is the Turner Valley Legion hosting a family barbecue from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Book lovers will also rejoice with the Sheep River Library's annual book sale.
