The High River Hospital will soon be getting some much-needed equipment.

The hospital's foundation is raising funds with it's annual Cattle and Grain Roundup to buy a portable ultrasound machine. Development officer cathey couey says it will help make the High River hospital more independant.

"Ultrasound is not always available here at our facility; we don't always have a radiologist, so this just allows any of our physicians with minimal training to be able to utilize this at a moment's notice."

Couey adds the program has raised over 500 thousand dollars in its ten year history, and has enabled the hospital to make some major purchases it otherwise wouldn't have.
