The Town of Okotoks is hosting their Okotoks Community Clean Up and Tree Planting Day again on Saturday, May 11th.

From 9 a.m. until noon, volunteers will be around town, cleaning up clutter and planting trees.

Cassidy Stillie, who is an Environment Projects and Programs Specialist with the Town of Okotoks, says to not worry if you didn't pre-register for the event.

"Come to the Sheep River Park Picnic Shelter at 9 a.m. to register if you didn't get the chance to pre-register, and get your clean-up supplies," explains Stillie. "Then start cleaning up the area of your choice."

Stillie adds that there will be Bird electric scooters available at Sheep River Park that can be used by the volunteers while they are cleaning up.

Those who have pre-registered and already have their clean-up supplies can simply get to work, if they don't want to make their way down to the picnic shelter first thing in the morning.

After the cleaning and tree planting is completed, the Town will be hosting an appreciation barbeque for all the volunteers, which will run from noon to 1 p.m.
