There's a number of things to do this weekend! (May 6-8)

Wow, it feels wonderful to be able to write this blog.

With the warmer months finally here we get to start welcoming more of our favorite events and activities back in to the Foothills, in their traditional form, after a long couple of years.

Who's excited!?

With summer right around the corner, our weekends are quickly filling up with awesome events you definitely should check out!

So we are going to try to keep you in the loop as best as we can!

Starting with this weekend....so here is your first official 'things you can do in the Foothills this weekend' list:

1. Okotoks Trade & Lifestyle Show: Tons of local businesses as vendors, an artisan market by Marketsquare, games and activities, fun food and a new beverage garden. This is the place to be this Friday and Saturday. Come network, support local, buy your Mother's Day present, socialize and gather, and just straight up have a fun time at this year's trade show. When: Friday, May 6th @ 4:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 7th @10a.m. - 4p.m.

Where: Okotoks Rec Centre 

2. Okotoks Pop Up Roller Rink: Yes you read that right, a roller rink coming to Okotoks! For just one day though so make sure you and your family/friends are there! A former Okotokian is bringing skating back to her hometown and our community. This pop-up is a great place for the little ones to learn or for you and your friends to throw it back to the good ole days! So go get your groove on! More details HERE.

When: Saturday, May 7th (see above for times) 

Where: Foothills Centennial Center 

3.1st Annual Mother's Day Market at Saskatoon Farm: Spend the day with your mama at the beauty that is the Saskatoon Farm and shop until you drop while also supporting local artisans! Honestly, I can't think of a better way to spend mother's day than this event right here. For more details click HERE. 

When: Saturday, May 7th & Sunday, May 8th, 9a.m. - 5p.m.

Where: Saskatoon Farm 

4. Okotoks Community Clean Up: This year, community volunteers, town staff, and committee members plan to spruce up the town by picking up any litter within the area as well as planting 1,200 native trees along the river valley. Help our town spring into Spring! Register now or day of to do your part! More details HERE.

5. Local Businesses celebrating this weekend: We always love to show some love to our local businesses, so here are a couple that are doing some cool things this weekend! Ginger Laurier is celebrating 40 years! White Bull Clothing is collaborating with Ginger & Spice for a sweet Mother's Day treat! And Butter Cream Clothing is also hosting a pop up with their amazing bamboo jersey fabric! So check them out.

When: Friday, May 6th - 10a.m.- 4p.m.

Where: Ginger Laurier, Okotoks

When:May 7th, 11a.m. - 1p.m.

Where: White Bull Clothing, High River

When: Saturday, May 7th, 10a.m. - 2p.m.

Where: Buttercream Clothing Pop Up - #108 - 62 Fisher Place, Okotoks
