The High River Flyers took two of the three Heritage Junior "B" Hockey League Stars of the Week this past week.

Jake Snashall was number one as the 16 year old put up seven points in three games.

And fellow forward Josh Russo, was the third star with a six point weekend.

Flyers Coach Colten Hayes says both awards are well deserved.

"You know, Jake Snashall, a 16 year old doing what he's been doing in our league is a pretty special thing. And same thing with Josh Russo. He's put in the work. He's a "hockey player" and he's been that way since I coached him with the Okotoks Bisons and you know, he works hard on and off the ice and it's a very special moment for both of them."

The Flyers are back in action Friday, November 22, as they host the Strathmore Wheatland Kings starting at 8 p.m. at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex.

Hayes, says they match up well.

"We're as deep as they are I think. We kind of have to show our home fans that we like playing at home and kind of put on a show for the fans. You know it's going to take hard work. It's kind of a cliche, but that's how the job gets done at the end of the day for us."

The Flyers have found their groove lately, as they've been scoring goals in bunches, much to Hayes delight.

"I've always preached to be a shooter. That's the biggest thing. You know the more rubber you throw at the net, anything can kind of happen at the end of the day."

In Okotoks, the hometown Bisons host the Lomond Lakers starting at 8 o'clock at the Murray Arena.
