Highway 40 in Kananaskis Country opens to vehicle traffic tomorrow.

The gate at Highway 40 and Highway 940 at the Highwood Junction is shut down to traffic every year from December 1 to June 14.

Something new this year for cyclists that flock to the locked gate is a posted warning.

It's a reminder to be safe, watch for bears and to travel in groups.

Hundreds of cyclists are expected to be out today before the locked gates are open to vehicle traffic on Friday, June 15.

And a reminder that you always need a Kananaskis Conservation Pass to park anywhere in K-Country.

Prices are still the same since it was introduced three years ago which is $90 for an annual pass or $15 per day.
