Stargazers Losing View. Dr. Phil Langill with the Rothney Obervatory near Priddis says artificial light from rural development drowns out the nighttime sky. Langill says light should be used efficiently.  "Use minimum amount of wattage as possible," he said, "and you want to make sure the light that comes out of the light bulb gets just cast down on to the ground and not onto the lawn or into your neighbour's eyeball when he looks out from his kitchen window." Langill is talking to the M.D. of Foothills about limiting light pollution in nearby proposed developments like Saddle Springs.
