Be aware when you are travelling to Banff National Park, with huge crowds expected this summer, some new parking rules have been put in place.

Several areas where people use to park on the road including by the Johnson Canyon Trailhead and several spots along the Trans Canada Highway have been closed.

There are no parking and no stopping signs posted in all the restricted areas so visitors will be well informed.

Public and wildlife safety were all taken into consideration when making these changes.

Banff National Park is encouraging  visitors to plan ahead and take transit if possible.

before heading out check for up-to-date information on parking as well as the availability of services and attractions in popular day use areas.

A park and ride has been created on the Minnewanka Loop Road.
