The Town of Okotoks is warning residents of aggressive deer.

A report came in from the Drake Landing community.

It's rutting season, which generally goes from October to December.

During this time, deer are known to display aggressive behaviour, more so than usual.

Deer are also more likely to move more quickly during this time, increasing the likelihood of wildlife collisions.

The town is reminding residents to keep their distance from deer and to make sure pets are kept on leashes.

They also advise against getting between deer and fawns.

Aggressive deer can be reported to the Report-A-Poacher line at 1-800-642-3800
