Residential taxpayers in Turner Valley will, on average, pay about $56 a year less this year in municipal taxes.

That's based on a house valued at $350,000 in 2018, which in 2019, would be assessed at a value of $342,720, resulting in a slightly lower tax bill, with a decrease in value of 2.08 per cent.

The Town says industrial and commercial values fell by 4.56 per cent, but will see more or less the same tax bill due to a downward adjustment to the municipal mill rate, which was adjusted downward from 8.57999 to 8.17999.

The Town however, kept the residential mill rate the same for the third straight year at 7.66666.

Overall the Provincial education tax dropped from 2.56 to 2.55 per cent, while commercial or non-residential rates fell from 3.76 to 3.75 per cent.

And the Westwinds Communities requisition amount for seniors dropped slightly from 2019.
