A local community organization continues to branch out.

Marianne Dickson with Wild Rose Community Connections says they've received funding to help even more people.

"We just recently started broadening out our Caring Connects program to specifically serve older adults, so we have a grant serving older adults in the community and the goal there is to age well at home, is kind of the concept," she explains.

"Folks can call us in and we get referrals from home care and the community and other agencies and so older adults who might need transportation to a medical appointment, that's a difficult thing to get, especially if the appointments are in Calgary."

She says cost is one factor and sometimes seniors need someone to go to the appointment with them and listen to what's said.

Wildrose Community Connections also has Dad's Central which gives dads and their kids a chance to get together and take part in activities.

Their next get together is April 4th at the Cavalry Field House at Aldersyde.
