Rain, rain go away... water the fields another day! 
It's a parade weekend in Okotoks. Certainly a highlight for many families in the area. However, there is plenty for you to do with the fam throughout the foothills this weekend.

Parade and Childrens Festival

Okotoks - Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

The events are annual Okotoks staples, with both returning in full after a two-year hiatus. Local businesses and organizations seem pretty enthusiastic, with approximately 70 floats registered.
The Okotoks Parade is set to start at 11 a.m.
The Children's Festival is to be held at the new Arts & Learning Campus on the same day.

Call of the West Museum Tractor Pull

High River AG Grounds - Saturday 10 a.m. 

Tractor pulling is a competitive motor sport in which farm tractors, modified tractors or trucks drag a metal sled along a prescribed course. The sled contains a box filled with weight that is mechanically winched forward as the sled progresses along the course.

 

Fathers Day Baseball

Okotoks - Saturday at 7 and Sunday at 2 p.m.

The Okotoks Dawgs currently sit at 13 wins and only 3 losses. With two big games planned for this weekend to honour fathers! (nothing like a cold one in the stands with dear ol' dad, hey?) 
Both games are against The Moose Jaw Miller Express.

 

CarStar Customer Appreciation Day

Okotoks - Saturday @ Carstar after the parade 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Bring the whole family and grab some lunch with us at Carstar Okotoks for burgers, bounce house and balloons.
They are also donating $500 to the local food bank. They will be accepting non perishable items to donate as well at 197 Stockton ave.

Pride Screening at Salute

Okotoks - Friday 7 p.m.

Screening multiple films including Sheer Qorma, and engage in discussion with the filmmakers behind these amazing works. Filmmaker Faraz Arif Ansari from the Short film Sheer Qorma will be joining us for a discussion about making films in India and around the world.

 

George Lane Memorial Parkrun

High River - Saturday George Lane Park - 9 a.m.

A free, weekly, timed 5km event starting and finishing in George Lane Park. Participants can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate.

Parkrun events happen every Saturday morning at 9 AM. Arrive 10 minutes before the event for the run briefing. Meet in George Lane Park where the Happy Trails meet the berm.

Come out, get involved in the community and get active!

 

Millarville Marathon

Millarville Run to the Farmers’ Market 
They haven't lased up for this race since 2019 
Be prepared…  half-marathoners will be hitting the road as well as the two-person relays and the Cobs Cinnamon Bun Run “8-Miler.”  
See them in Black Diamond and Turner Valley before finishing at the Millarville Farmers’ Market.
