Bill Robertson Park Naming Ceremony
Saturday, September 10 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm
Please join Okotoks Town Council and the Robertson family at the naming ceremony for Bill Robertson Park (formerly Riverside Community Park). This lasting tribute to Mayor Robertson is a heartfelt way for the Town to recognize and celebrate Mayor Robertson’s dedication to the community and his support for youth and recreation initiatives in Okotoks. The ceremony will be followed by kids activities, refreshments and camaraderie.
Piikanikoan - Living Under a Blackfoot Sky - A Modern Winter Count
The Okotoks Museum & Archives - Free
Piikanikoan invites audiences to explore Blackfoot (Niitsitapi) cultural heritage through a combination of art, stories and songs. Through the lens of his own musical journey, Piikani Nation member Ira Provost delves into the significance of Blackfoot music, its origins and its influence on his life story.
This travelling exhibit is curated by Ira Provost and created by Galt Museum & Archives, Lethbridge.

Foothills Kinettes Duck Race

Saturday, Sep 10 at 1:00PM - Little Bow Canal
The Foothills Kinette Club is thrilled to bring back the Duck Race on the Canal in High River on Sept 10 at 1 p.m.
We have 1,000 ducks to release but only those sold will be released into the canal, and the winners will be declared as the first three ducks cross the finish line.
All proceeds raised will be given back to "Serve the Community's Greatest Need."
The winners will be contacted on the day of the race after the Ducks have crossed the finish line.
Superman III at the Sunset Drive In!
Not-for-profit drive-in movie theatre serving High River and southern Alberta. A portion of profits are directed to approved local charities.
On Saturday, September 10th, join us for a SUPER special showing of this 1983 classic filmed (mostly) in and around High River and Calgary. The Museum of the Highwood is proud to present this piece of High River history at the iconic High River Sunset Drive-In! Held in the fall since 2001, the Old Time Threshing Bee is a volunteer-driven event demonstrating how crops were cut, stooked, and threshed in the early 1900s.
High River Half Marathon

We are excited to announce the return of the High River Half Marathon, 10KM and 5KM run, and Kids’ Fun Run in the park! 2022 will also see the return of the pancake breakfast, face painting for kids and much more. Kid’s will feel part of the excitement with their own bib number. We look forward to seeing you on September 10th at George Lane Memorial Park.

The Museum is located in High River, Alberta at the Ag Society Rodeo Grounds. There you will visit a large collection of farm tractors (Ford) and farm equipment of the early years. The Museum is based on the history of the influence Ford & the Oil companies had on the agricultural way of life from the early 1900's to the 1960's and beyond.
