Weekend traveller update: 4 Highways in the B.C. interior are closed due to wildfires
Many wildfires in British Columbia are causing road closures and hazards in the province. Weekend travellers from Alberta should be aware of a few closures that could affect their summer travel plans this weekend. Forest fires have closed the following highways or reduced them to one lane with intermittent openings: Highway 1 from nine kilometres south of Cache Creek to Spences Bridge Highway 1 at the Kicking Horse Pass near Golden has some construction causing delays Highway 6 from Silverton to 12 kilometres south of Silverton Highway 26 at Wells, no detour available Highway 93 from four kilometres south of Windermere to one kilometre north of Fairmont Hot Springs Go to DriveBC for the latest information.
