Discover the Foothills

Discover the Foothills

We're Discovering the Foothills!

We have so much going for us here in Okotoks, High River, and surrounding communities.

We wanted to get out and see what kind of businesses, events, and locations we have in our little slice of heaven and there's no better way to get around to see it than in a shiny new Volkswagen.

We've teamed up with the all-new Okotoks Volkswagen to explore the foothills and bring our adventures to you so you can find them for yourself!

On this episode of Discover the Foothills, we head to the south end of Okotoks and visit the Regional Fieldhouse. This place has something for everyone.

Our first stop was the amazing Charity Checkstop! (Read more about it here) We hopped into their 2023 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport decked out with all the bells and whistles you can imagine!

Check it out and be sure to pop by and see them! For every vehicle sold in December, they are making a $100 donation to the Okotoks Foodbank. They are also accepting donations at their showroom location!

Then we hopped into their 2023 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport and made our way down to the Okotoks Food Bank to take part in their annual food hamper packing day.

Dozens of volunteers packed hundreds of hampers for the community. We got to chat with the food bank Executive Director Pamela McLean about how many families are coming to the food bank this year.

We took the show on the road to hang out with the Okotoks Oilers!

Driving in style in a decked-out VW we suited up members of the Okotoks Volkswagen team to face off against the AJHL superstars in a "Joes vs Pros" event.

The Okotoks Oilers play out of the Cennteinal Arena as a part of the Alberta Juinor Hockey League. Be sure to catch them on the ice and cheer them on to victory.

As the VW team stretches out after the stunning loss to the Oilers check them out on their home ice at the all-new Okotoks Volkswagen location.

Grab tickets to the next game here.

Taking over the Diamond Valley!

Alberta’s newest town formed on January 1 with the amalgamation of Black Diamond and Turner Valley, Diamond Valley is the result of years of work between the two municipalities and the provincial government.

We took the show on the road with Mayor Barry Crane in a decked-out 2023 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport. Taking us all through the stunning landscapes, amazing people and one-of-a-kind shops.

Next time you find yourself with time on your hands jump in a brand new VW and cruise down to the Diamond Valley.

You WON'T regret it!

This month, we're hanging out with Okotoks Mayor Tanya Thorn! She's taking us through the town, looking through some of the sustainability and carbon neutrality efforts brought forward by the town of Okotoks.
So we put her into an all-new electric ID.4 Volkswagen and hit the road!

With a supercharger available right next to Volkswagen and an ID 4 available anytime for a test drive, there is no better time to pop down to Okotoks's Volkswagen and chat with the team.

This time we took a trip out to the farm!

Farming in Alberta has been happening for well over a century. With its nutrient-rich soil, the province is a leading producer of canola, wheat, dry peas, and barley. Alberta's arable lands, extensive irrigation network and abundance of sunshine make it an ideal region to produce agricultural products of all sorts.

In a nice fancy Volkswagen Atlas, we took the show out to Newman Farms to learn all about the work that goes from seed to crop to table year after year.

If you want to see more they have their own YouTube channel!!

It's baseball season!! Everyone knows the Okotoks Dawgs! Multi-WCBL champs and always a great night when you see them play!

But what happens when we put Josh and Alex from Okotoks Volkswagen against the players in a "Joes v Pros" battle?
We hopped into an all-new electric ID.4 Volkswagen and took the show to Seaman Stadium to find out!

We get to Discover the Foothills in Longview! From beef jerky to ghosts, it's an interesting place to see.

We dropped into the Millarville Market for this month's Discover the Foothills feature and it did not disappoint.

From fresh produce to artisanal jewelry and everything in between, if you haven’t been there yet, we’ll you better do so because there are only a few Saturdays left!

Thank you for the hospitality and thank you to the vendors for taking the time to speak to us.
