Usually getting on a "Watch List" is a bad thing.

But not for Okotoks Oilers forward Quinn Olson.

He finds himself on the NHL Central Scouting "Watch List" heading into this year's NHL Draft.

Olson says he's passionate about hockey, and intends to continue playing with the Oilers before heading Stateside to continue his post secondary education.

"Recently, I committed to the University of Minnesota Duluth, so I have the option of going there next year or the year after. If I go in two years, I'll play with the Okotoks Oilers again next year, if not, I'll play in college next year," he said.

Olson could go anywhere from the fourth to the seventh round in this year's draft as he's ranked as a "C" level skater.

He says the Town of Okotoks is a great community to build his hockey career, with great coaching, fans and athletic training.

"It's been awesome. The coaching staff is top notch, our athletic trainer is awesome, great fan base, and it's just an awesome town to play in," said Olson.
