The High River Flyers had one of their best years ever in the Heritage Junior "B" Hockey League this past season.

They fell just short of a pretty big upset over the Coaldale Copperheads in the South Division semi-finals, pushing the first place Copperheads to five games.

But Flyers President Mike Bliss, says overall most of the credit has to go to Flyers Coach Tyson Avery.

"Obviously that's the main reason. He instituted a system that he believed in and it did take a little bit of time for the players to catch up. But once they did and they started using his vision, they turned themselves into a close-knit team, and that's exactly what we needed."

Bliss says Avery is definitely their man going forward.
