A much better showing for Nanton's Logan Bird in Pool "B" action at the Calgary Stampede rodeo Wednesday, July 12.

He posted a time of 7.9 seconds in tie down roping to tie for top spot with Idaho's Matt Shiozawa.

He says it's great to finally be at the Stampede.

"I feel great about it. I had a real good calf. And yes, this rodeo means a lot to me. I've been waiting to get here since I was a little tiny kid!"

Bird had a no time Tuesday, July 11 in the Pool "B" first go-round.

In bull riding DeWinton's Brock Radford scored an 83, good for second spot.

He was bucked off in his first try Tuesday.
