A big night for the High River Flyers as they defeated the Okotoks Bisons last night, January 5th, 7 to 4 in the Heritage Junior Hockey League.

The win moves the team into first place with a one point lead on the Bisons.

The Flyers have played 29 games with 16 wins, 10 loses and three overtime points. The Bisons have played 26 games with 10 wins, eight loses and have two overtime points.

The Bisons scored first but the Flyers took the lead in the second period and continued to add to the scoreboard for the win, never letting the Bisons get ahead of them.

Josh Marsellus, Josh Younkers, Connor Minchin all scored singles while Michael McTighe and Davis Sheldon got two goals each.

Next weekend they are on the road to Strathmore on January 12th and Coaldale on January 13th.
