The High River Flyers swept the Strathmore Wheatland Kings 2 games to nothing in the best of 3 series with a 4-1 win last night.

Flyer Davis Sheldon opened the scoring at 11:47 of the first period on the power play with assists coming from Joel Nalder and Josh Younker.

Sheldon popped in another goal, this time short-handed in the third period.  He also added an assist while teammates Nalder and Younker each also added another assist to their totals.

It was a specialty teams win for the Flyers as the first two goals came on the power play while the last two goals came short-handed.

But make no mistake it was a tough fought game with 2 game misconducts being handed out for fighting and multiple roughing calls and over a dozen other penalties being assessed.

Chance Vinck picked up the win in net stopping 30 of 31 shots.

The Flyers now move on to round two in the HJHL South Division semi-finals as they face off against the Coaldale Copperheads.

The Okotoks Bisons face off against the Cochrane Generals for round two.
