Hometown WPCA driver Jason Glass earned 9th spot  with a strong run at the chuckwagon races in High River for Guy Weadick Days last night.

Glass, with his Birchcliff Energy Ltd. Wagon earned a time of 1:16.26, said it was a good night.

"That was my big strong outfit on the one barrel, they are always fun to take out there go around the track," said Glass.

Luke Tournier came off the four barrel, in the same heat as Glass and he earned the top time of the night after a fast run of 1:14.55.

"Luke Tournier must have had a dynamite turn on the four barrel. I got around my bottom and I seen Luke was gone so I just followed him."

Glass says he takes things on day one day at a time.

"Hour by hour everything changes. You just got to really make sure the horses are happy and healthy, and if they are ready to go they will try their hardest. I just got to try and do my job and drive them accordingly."

And he added, it is always good to come home for one weekend on the circuit.

"Lots of friends and family here, and the horses love to get home in their own barn and their own box stalls. At home they have big green grass they can go eat and lay down in."

Okotoks Mark Sutherland was 25th with a couple of penalties, his son Dayton earned 30th and High River's Jordie Fike was 19th in last nights heat.

After 2 days, Kurt Bensmiller tops the overall aggregate followed by Luke Tournier, with Kirk Sutherland, Obrey Motowylo and Mitch Sutherland filling out the top 5 overall.

In the aggregate, Glass is the top local driver sitting in 11th, Fike, also from High River is 22 while Okotoks Mark Southerland is 19th and Dayton Sutherland is 31st.

The driver posting the best 4-day aggregate time after Sunday's run will be declared the champion of the 2017 Guy Weadick Days championship.
