The High River Flyers stay atop the Heritage B Junior Hockey League South division with a big win last night, January 12, in Strathmore.

Heading into the 3rd period down 1-0 Connor Taylor buried it in the back of the net with Davis Sheldon and Josh Younker assisting to tie up the game at 1.

The Wheatland Kings once again took the lead at the 12:49 mark but it wouldn't last.

The Wheaties got into some penalty trouble as tempers flared and the Flyers made them pay with 3 unanswered goals, two of them on the Power Play.

Younker finished the night with a goal and 2 assists with Sheldon getting two more helpers for 3 assists on the night.

The Flyers now have a 2 point lead in the South with 37 points as Cochrane upset the Okotoks Bisons 4-1 last night.  The Generals are now in 2nd with 35 points with the Bisons and the Coaldale Copperheads tied with 34 points in 3rd.

The Flyers and Copperheads now go toe-to-toe tonight, January 13 in Coaldale.  Game time is 8:30 p.m.
