The High River Flyers couldn't find the antidote to the Coaldale Copperheads' deadly offence last night during their final game of the regular season.

They came into yesterday's matchup at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex hoping to redeem themselves after losing five straight in the final stretch of the season.

Both teams came out of the gates strong, scoring back-to-back goals in the first and second frames.

They were tied at two goals apiece heading into the final 20 minutes where the fifth seeded Copperheads' play proved to be too much for the Flyers.

With only five minutes left on the board, the Copperheads dumped three unanswered goals past the Flyers' goalie for a final score of 7 to 4.

The Flyers finish the season with a 17-16-3 record.

The third place Bisons, on the other hand, are coming into their final frames on a high, winning their last three games on the road.

They play tonight (Saturday Feb 10) in Medicine Hat against the Cubs at the Murray Arena starting at 8 p.m.

The Flyers are in eigth place in the Heritage Junior Hockey League standings with 37 points while the Bisons are in third with 48.

Okotoks is only one point ahead of the fourth-seeded Cochrane Generals, who are on an eight-game win streak heading inot their final season game.

Red Deer and Airdrie are currently in first and second place.
