No medals for the Highwood girls soccer team but they showed they had a whole bunch of determination on Saturday, October 14th.

The team hosted the the South Central Tier One Zones and lost all four games they played in.

Didsbury beat them 6 to 0 in the opening game on Friday and in their second game of the day Olds beat them 3 to 0.

Coach Emma Unlenberg said they had only 11 players come out for the two games on Saturday which meant they had no subs.

First up they played Strathmore at 9 a.m. and kept it close they only lost 1 to 0.

"That put us into the bronze medal game, and against Hugh Sutherland which is Didsbury Carstairs I think it is a whole collection there. This is the team we lost 6 nothing to on Friday."

She said the girls felt they had something to prove, and they almost did it.

"We were losing one nothing with three minutes left in the game one of our girls, Arra (Altamera) tied it up and we went into a shoot out."

Definitely an improvement from a 6 to nothing loss the day before.

"From all of our coaches perspective there was so much improvement ."

"I couldn't be happier with them."
