Young Okotoks hockey fans will have a chance to participate in the Hometown Hockey Tour live broadcast coming to Okotoks in February.

Communications Specialist for the Town of Okotoks, Carla Trigiani, says they're accepting applications for children to help choose the three stars at the end of the Calgary, Ottawa game.

"At the end of the game, the kids have to choose who their three stars were. They will be live broadcast with Ron and Tara, and they'll be profiled. Because it's the Calgary Flames and Ottawa Senators, the three stars have to be from those two teams," she said.

Trigiani says they are looking for one boy and one girl who play hockey in the community, who will be chosen by a committee made up of community members, town employees, and the Mayor of Okotoks.

"We have a cross-functional committee. They will be discussing all of the submissions, and making the final selection," she said.

An application along with qualifying criteria must be submitted to the town by Monday, December 10 to be considered for the contest.

The link for eligibility criteria and the application can be found on the Town of Okotoks website.
