A long road for the Oilfields Curling Club entry of Jacob Libbus at the U-18 Men's Curling Playdowns in Lethbridge over the weekend, but in the end he snagged one of two spots up for grabs for Provincials next month in Leduc.

He won the "B" event Sunday, February 12, to take the second spot, beating Airdrie's Desmond Young 7-5.

A tough weekend for the fellow Oilfields rink of Jared Palanuik who fell to Libbus 6-3 in the "B" Event semi's and was eliminated earlier in the day.

Okotoks Michael Steele also missed out, as did Claresholm's Kateri Blair on the ladies side.
