On December 14 in the Heritage Junior "B" Hockey League, there wasn't much luck for our local teams, who will be looking to shake off their loss heading into their final games of 2018.

The High River Flyers were in the Bob Snodgrass Rec-plex gathering teddy bears as part of their inaugural annual Teddy Bear Toss game.

However, their pairing against the Medicine Hat Cubs ended in a 7-5 loss for the Flyers, as the Cubs tie up both their series with the Flyers, and their standings in the South division.

The Cubs opened up the game strong, with three consecutive goals in the first period, as #21 Michael McTighe clocked in the first Flyers goal before the start of the second period.

McTighe scored another in the second period along with two goals by #18 Brennan McPherson and one by #22 Zachary Mott, but it ultimately wasn't enough to push the game into overtime, with no goals scored by either team in the third period.

The Flyers hit the road to Cochrane on December 16 to take on the Generals at 3:30 p.m.

The Coaldale Copperheads were in Okotoks last night to do battle with the Bisons and unfortunately the Copperheads manage to keep their win streak going.

Final score of that game was a 5-2 loss for the Bisons.

The Okotoks club will be on the road to Blackfalds to take on the Wranglers on December 16 at 3:30.

Lastly the Lomond Lakers hit the ice on December 15 out in Strathmore, against the Wheatland Kings at 8 p.m.
