A couple of locals at the Brier in Brandon, Manitoba are going to have to settle for just being there, after they failed to make the championship pool event.

Okotoks Taylor Ardiel playing for Nova Scotia and Nanton's Cole Parsons with the Territories finished on the outside looking in at the end of the round robin Wednesday, March 6.

Nova Scotia finished with a 3-and-4 record, while the Territories were 1-and-6.

Calgary's Kevin Koe, who finished a perfect 7-and-0 to lead Pool "B" and Edmonton's Brendan Bottcher and his Wild Card team, who finished 6-and-1 in Pool "A," both advanced, and will start play Thursday, March 7.

Joining them are Northern Ontario, defending champ, Brad Gushue and his Team Canada rink, Ontario, Manitoba, B.C. and Saskatchewan.
