High River's long drive champ, Dan McIntosh is gearing up for another season on the long drive tour.

McIntosh says they get going in a few weeks.

"Really focusing hard and training, getting the speed ready for that one. We've been working hard on strength and now is the speed training time. So, having fun at the Athlete Factory and Golf Tech and getting ready to hit those big shots."

He's heading back out on the tour full time this year, after taking a bit of a break in 2018.

"2017 was a good year for me. Made it onto two of the three televised events. 2018 was an even better year in terms of I got married and was travelling around with my wife and long drive was kind of on the back burner a little bit. Still went to all those events and had some fun. This year, I really want a comeback year and let them know "Smackintosh" is still here."

McIntosh heads into the season, ranked 33rd in the world.

He kicks off the season, Sunday, April 14 at the "Smash in the Sun" event in Maricopa, Arizona.
