A busy weekend for Nanton Golf Club Head Pro Dave Henzie at the PGA of Alberta Golf Show in Calgary.

He says he was kept hopping talking to people interested in heading south of the City for golf, but like most pro's faced one question more than others.

When is the course opening?

"Not a hundred percent sure of the date yet. We'll be deciding sometime this week. The guys are getting out on the golf course, taking off the tarps, seeing how the green's are looking. We'll be open sometime in the first half of April, depending on weather and conditions, but we're excited to get open as quickly as possible."

Henzie says golfers will notice the addition of two new bridges on the 11th and 18th holes, to replace the one's destroyed in the 2014 flood.

When Mosquito Creek flooded in 2014 it washed away the old bridge crossing the creek on the 18th hole forcing the club to build a new one, which along with a new bridge on the 11th hole will be open this season.

Otherwise there's no big changes coming to the course this season, but Henzie says they'll continue to work on their new three hole practice facility adjacent to the 17th and 18th holes.

He says they're hoping to have it all grassed in this year and ready to go for the 2018 season.
