A Nanton tie down roper is lucky to be alive after the SUV he was driving Saturday, December 2, rolled down an embankment and right over his head.

In a post on Facebook, Logan Bird says he was driving his Mom's SUV when he hit some washboard on a gravel road, a tire blew out and the vehicle rolled down an embankment throwing him out.

He says his jaw's broken in three places, but he's had surgery to repair it and should be ready to go by the start of the 2018 rodeo season.
