The Okotoks Oilers have one win down on their three game road trip this weekend.

They defeated the Grand Prairie storm 4 to 0 last night, Friday January 26, and are moving onto the Whitecourt Wolverines on Saturday January 27th.

Forward Tanner Laderoute says there was a bit of chatter before the game.

"Good for sure. They were saying some stuff about them being better than us and the South division is weak but I guess we showed them for sure. It is pretty much on the score board, 4 to nothing."

Goalie Rylie Morris had some trouble near the end of the game.

"You never want to see your top goalie, the top goalie in the league go down like that kind of at the end when there is only two minutes left."

Laderoute adds Morris should be okay, but if Ben Howard goes in net everything will be fine.

"He is easily capable. He's shown it right when Mo (Rylie Morris) got hurt right first game of the season and we went on a 10 game win streak there. We are more than confident in him."

One key point on this road game is for the Oilers to have good starts.

"We are way more foccused now. Everyone wants to start strong so we don't give them any false hope that they can play with us. It is just huge to have good starts."

And in their matchup with the Whitecourt Wolverines they need to be prepared.

"They are big and hitting so that is fine with us, we are pretty much ready for any team and I hope they bring us their best."

Game time tonight, Saturday January 27th is 7:30.
