Another local organization who's season has been put on hold due to COVID-19 is Okotoks BMX.

During their downtime, workouts are being posted by coaches online to help keep riders active and prepared.

Kevin Sommers, President of Okotoks BMX, says the track is currently closed but they're putting in work to make sure it's ready to go if they're given the all-clear.

"We don't have any access to the track for our riders obviously and we are also doing some track maintenance when we can. At the most, we're having five down there at a time just to be able to get the track ready in the event that stuff opens up and then we can get riders on the track. Then we'll be ready to open up as soon as possible."

Sommers says while an extended season isn't on the table, they're hoping to get in a shorter one full of action.

"If we can get a start in it would be a shortened season. We do go pretty late already and we're pretty much open until the snow flies on a standard season so it's hard to go later than that but if we can get open then we will get whatever riding we can in for as much as we can."

The organization has stated it currently has a tentative start date of Thursday, July 2.
