The Okotoks Oilers were learning how to flip pizza's and roll out the dough Wednesday, February 8, as a way to give back some love to the community.

That love came in the form of heart shaped pizzas.

Oilers defenceman Reece Soukoroff says they we're also giving away game tickets.

"We're making some pizzas from the heart for anyone who wants to come in, we're also giving some tickets out and really just having some fun with it."

While it was nice to come warm up by the pizza oven's the boys didn't get to use it as an excuse to get out of practice.

"We actually have practice after this, so we're not really getting away from the ice." Soukoroff says "It is really nice to be here and meet some of these people and help out making some pizza."

As for the quality of the meals that the Oilers prepared, they gave it all a thumbs up.

"We got to have a couple samples." Soukoroff says "These guys are making pasta now, and it's pretty good. I think we get to eat some of it, so that's really nice!"

The Oilers are back in action Friday, February 10, when the Lloydminster Bobcats come to town.
