The Okotoks Oilers Pee Wee AA Black Team are finalists for the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup.

They were named one of the top ten teams qualifying for the Good Deeds Cup during Friday night's World Junior Gold Medal Game.

The Good Deeds Cup was created in 2016 to showcase teams who make their community a better place.

The PWAA Black Team has done plenty in the community this past year, raising $1,600 for the Mustard Seed via a bottle drive.

Using the funds the team made 300 bagged lunches for the Mustard Seed with the help and generosity of David Gilbert and Okotoks Sobeys.

The remainder of the funds, $800, was then donated to the Mustard Seed as well.

As semi-finalists, the team has already won $2,000 to donate to a charity of choice, which is the Mustard Seed.

Some of the prizing for the winning Pee Wee team this year includes; a $15,000 donation for the charity of its choice, a Good Deeds Cup winners’ ceremony in its hometown, a feature on television, and summer practice with a Chevrolet Hockey Ambassador.

Over 3,000 teams signed up for the Good Deeds Cup.

Voting to pick the winner will start January 15, 2018.
