Alberta's Finance Minister Joe Ceci laid out the Notley government's budget this afternoon acknowledging a deficit of $10.4-billion this year.

The carbon levy has been set at 20-dollars a tonne starting January 1, 2017 with rebates for six out of ten Albertans depending on income.

Ceci says the Alberta Jobs Plan will create thousands of jobs while diversifying the economy while it protects jobs in education and health care.

Operations for health care will increase by 3 per cent, compared to 6 per cent increases over the last six years.

The small business tax rate is being reduced from three to two per cent.

$34-billion in infrastructure building includes $4.6-billion for new roads and bridges and another $500-million for future investments in health projects across Alberta.

$700-million is being set aside for flood recovery projects.

Alberta remains without a provincial sales tax and has the lowest tax rate of any province.
