Last Thursday the group 100 Women Who Care met for the first time in Okotoks. The group consists of women who come together and vote on a cause to donate to. Karen Love, the organizer of the group, said that around 20 women came to the meeting and donated to the Foothills Country Hospice.

"Every woman who was there wrote a check for a hundred dollars and with that we currently have around two thousand four hundred dollars to give to the Foothills Hospice."

Love said the amount that is being donated to the Hospice keeps growing as women who couldn't make the meeting continue to email her asking to donate.

Love adds, "one of the special things about the Foothills Country Hospice being chosen was that more than one person nominated the Hospice, which says a lot about the agency itself. So, that's why we only had two choices to pick from instead of three like we usually would."

With the first meeting being a success Love has high hopes for the second meeting in February.

"I'm hoping that even more woman come out that night, and if your charity gets nominated then you get to stand up for five minutes and talk about it and tell us why we should fund them."
