The Town of Turner Valley saw the number of speeders take a big dip in 2016.

Municipal Enforcement Supervisor Trevor Bowman says a lot of the credit comes from the Town's decision to drop the speed limit to 40 km/h.

"They're enforcement strategy when they first initiated the program here worked out really, really well. We're actually seeing a significant decrease in overall speeding on our residential roads with the 40 km/h speed limit."

Bowman says they still have to deal with the occasional driver with a lead foot, but overall he's happy with the change.
