The Narrow Road Run is all set for Saturday, June 4 at George Lane Park. Event Coordinator Angelique Linge says proceeds from the run will benefit the Narrow Road Home in High River.

"So the Narrow Road Home is a place where women can go if they're dealing with either addiction, abuse, depression. I guess life, basically, is hitting them hard."

The recovery home is a place women can go when life has become overwhelming and was life changing for Linge.

"I went there. I was dealing with addiction in my life, but I realized I was dealing with a lot more. It gave me the support and the tools that I needed, and I wanted to give back. So, I'm a runner and a triathlete and one way was to do a run. So that's kind of how I came up with doing a 5km run."

She says everyone is welcome to stop by and enjoy the day.

"We really wanted to make it community-based, family-based. Everything starts about 9:15 am, and we think it'll go into the early afternoon. We'll have a barbecue, hot dogs, if you want to come and just have something to eat and go on the bouncy castles come by, if you want to walk or run, and there will be kids races as well."
