Community Cafe's are back in High River.

Community support worker with FCSS, Caitland Asmundson says the low key drop-in events started sporadically back in 2013.

"Now we're doing them more frequently because we have the support of Jody Dawson from Our High River," she says. "So what we're doing is once a month we are giving the community an opportunity to get together and get to know their neighbours, we're going to be meeting at A River Ran Through It Cafe, for the remainder of the year."

She says residents can't always rely on the Town to step up and take on everything.

"If you're interested in any of the topics then we welcome conversation around that, what do you think High River's already doing, what can we do better and how, that's the really big thing, is how can you as a citizen get more involved and build the community that you want to see."

The next Community Cafe is Wednesday Oct., 7 and the topic is Seniors in Our High River.

Youth in the town will be the focus of the Nov. 4 Cafe and New Citizens in the community will be discussed Dec. 9.

Because of construction on 1st Street, participants are asked to access the cafe from MacLeod Trail through the alley.

It goes from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.tonight.
