There's still time to get the last few tickets remaining for this year's Hope and Healing Gala put on by Rowan House on Saturday, April 29.

But you need to do it by 11:30 a.m., Thursday, April 27.

Rowan House Community Relations Coordinator Ally Cramm, says support from the Foothills area for this event is amazing as the charity needs to raise $800,000 to provide programming.

"We have room for up to 300 so if you would like to join us, there is still that possibility," said Cramm.

So far they've sold 260 tickets.

She adds the evening is going to be very exciting with music, live and silent auctions, WestJet tickets and a guest speaker who has an interesting story to tell.

"The speaker we have joining us is a two-time survivor and she came from a well educated background."

Cramm added survivors of doemstic abuse can come from all kinds of backgrounds.

The prevention work Rowan house does in the Foothills is starting to make a difference.

"We spend a lot of time in the community talking about relationships, red flags, healthy relationships, bullying and friendship and I think, in the classrooms specifically, teachers are starting to notice a difference," said Cramm.

The programs include preventative education in schools, community groups, Leading Change Program as well as court outreach and a few other things,' said Cramm.
