Another reminder to take your keys and lock your vehicle.

Nanton RCMP arrested three people after a couple of cars were stolen over the weekend.

Mounties say the thieves were waiting outside the Mac's in Nanton, when someone drove up, left their vehicle running and went into the store.

One of the thieves jumped out of the vehicle they were in, a Nissan Murano, which police say was stolen from Calgary, and into the running vehicle.

Police were called and they quickly found and arrested the two people in the Murano, and grabbed the third suspect the next day, much to the delight of the owner, who got his vehicle back quickly.

The three suspects, two men and a woman, all in their 30's and all from Calgary are in Fort Macleod Provincial Court Friday, April 25 facing vehicle theft and possession of stolen property charges.

RCMP are once again reminding drivers to always lock their vehicles.

"We really need for the public to not make it easy for these criminals," says Nanton RCMP Detachment Commander Corporal Travis Ogilvie. "Taking your keys from the ignition, locking your doors and not leaving valuables in your vehicles is the easiest way to prevent this type of crime."
