Monday really was a day of labour for Allison Lyttle of Okotoks.

She gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Archer, and in honour of Labour Day, they, and proud dad Brendan Knapman were presented with a quilt from the High River Hospital Auxiliary.

Phyllis Gow, volunteer coordinator with the auxiliary, says they normally present a quilt to the parents of the New Years baby.

"This could probably become a normal thing to," she says. "I'm going to bring it up to the Auxiliary at our September meeting and see if we can pass it to make sure it becomes an annual event because the maternity department here does support us greatly in the gift shop."

Archer weighed in at 7-lbs,15.2 oz. and he joins his 18-month old brother Atlas at home.

Allison Lyttle says she's just thrilled.

"Ya he's just terrific, I love him," Lyttle says. "He was born yesterday (Monday Sept 7) arms flailing, fighting, a fighter in the world and I couldn't be happier, he's just so healthy and has so much character, I think he's got a little tongue in cheek from his dad in him too."

Gow says the quilt was done by Marg Hall, who she says does a lot of the quilts for the gift shop and they're able to sell a lot of the quilts there.

Allison Lyttle and Brendan Knapman were thrilled.
