High River and the surrounding area is considered Hollywood north by the television and movie industry.

Highwood Museum Director Irene Kerr says she has the proof.

"I've found more than 140 television shows and movies that have been filmed around this area. Every Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock we have a theatre set up with vintage theatre seats and people can watch a classic

film." She says they started with the silent film era and are working their way toward more current productions, and the popcorn is provided.

"We don't charge admission here, it's by donation only and we use those donations for our events." She says.

Kerr says the exhibit has something for everyone. "We have the Superman cape that Christopher Reeve wore in Superman 3, High River is all over that movie. There's props from the movie The Revenant, Fargo, Heartland and North

Of 60 among others." She says the museum has had visitors from 34 countries, 29 states and from every province in Canada. She says the museum is open Monday to Saturday 9am to 4:30pm and Sundays noon to 4pm.
