Four days of everything horse gets started Thursday in High River.

Trish Seitz with C5 Rodeo says they really want Guy Weadick Days to honour the people who have set the standard.

"We wanted to honour the original 1979 committee that this Guy Weadick Days, as it was officially called then, and so you're going to see some faces from the past and some future champions as well with the Little Britches kids," Seitz says.

The ceremony gets underway at one o'clock Sunday in the infield.

Seitz says Friday night is date night where they'll be honouring Roy and Lenore McLean with a Best Dressed contest.

Roy and Lenore were both winners of Best Dressed cowboy and cowgirl at the Little Britches Parade as youngsters and are still together.

Saturday they'll be celebrating Canada's 150th birthday and new this year are a group of aboriginal dancers, singers and drummers from Eden Valley and Longview area that'll be part of the Grand Entry. The women will get their due with the quarter mile side saddle race which is set to start about 3:30 Saturday afternoon.

Off the Ag grounds, Foothills MP John Barlow will be putting on a pancake breakfast Saturday morning.
