According to Alberta Health Service's most recent reports, influenza activity appears to be reaching its peak in the province.

The number of influenza related deaths in Alberta has grown to 13, with Calgary accounting for eight of those deaths.

In just two weeks the total number of lab confirmed influenza cases has more than doubled.

To date in this season, the there have been 2,478 lab confirmed influenza cases provincially: 1,984 influenza A and 494 influenza B.

There have been 632 hospitalized influenza cases in Alberta and 39 patients admitted to the ICU to date.

1,097,060 Albertans have received a flu shot this year.
