Turner Valley RCMP arrested two men after an early morning alarm call from a Telus site in Millarville this past Monday.

Officers were dispatched around 3:30 a.m. after receiving the call that a cable had been cut. When they arrived on scene, they observed two males on a nearby rural property and upon further investigation, recovered about 300 metres of copper cable and a stolen trailer.

RCMP have charged 42-year- old Michael Brown of Millarvile, and 44-year- old Michael Pratt of Calgary with possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. Brown also has an additional charge for theft under $5000.

Both have been released and are to appear in Turner Valley Provincial Court on July 3rd.

Staff Sergeant for the Turner Valley Detachment, Dwayne Helgeson, says phone lines are a critical piece of infrastructure to the area residents, and theft of cable can put the residents in a very bad situation.

RCMP remind residents to continue reporting any suspicious activity.
